I have been ignored and treated as less than a “real” cancer patient because I am a maintenance patient, not and a patient actively going through treatments. Dr. Mabel Mardones is an excellent doctor. She is an expert in her field, and she is compassionate, thorough, understanding and balanced in her approach. Any oncologist can have good or difficult news for their patient. Whether the news is positive or challenging, Dr. Mabel Mardones seems expert at taking the right tone with her patient.
I waited for 55 minutes for Dr. Mardones. She did apologize when she came in but no one else poked their head in my exam room to let me know she was going to be delayed. I had to open the door because it was so warm in there. It was a simple, easy visit so I don't have much to comment on except lack of timeliness and no contact with me during that hour.
