My favorite restaurant in the metro Detroit area. Nothing beats the food and staff of Mabel Gray!
Truly great food. This is a place you plan to go for a special occasion or when you're looking for a gourmet meal. Still, it has a very down home feel, not at all pretentious. I last went during Burger Week and the Wagyu burger was possibly the best burger I have ever had. They always have a great selection of crafted cocktails and the walls are covered with mural style paintings. Disappointed with the tasting menu. The sauces were very tasty but each course other than the dessert that evening was piquant. Service was great but the place is small and cramped. The dessert was dry and very small for 2 to share. The wine list is limited. My partner and I were out celebrating our birthdays and reservations are difficult to get. We left disappointed since we read all of the rave reviews. We have dined at many of metro Detroit restaurants, this one isn't in our top ten.
Best drink selection - great service. Lives up to the hype 100%.
