My experience with MI homes had been nothing less than superb, literally from start to finish. I didn’t have the best experience with my lender during the home buying process (which was not with MI homes) which made it that much more important for my Husband and I to feel comfortable the rest of the way. We are on our 7th month on a new house that MI homes built and we have experienced the worst. In 30 days our AC leaked and damaged our drywall, the following month there was a toilet leak on the 2nd floor that damaged my 1st floor ceiling and even found mold!! Worst part is they installed a mini ac unit on my 2nd floor and is not enough for the square footage. We have been battling the warranties and we have been passed around a million times. Update 11/19/20 2nd year in home. Visible structural damage in brick as shown in pictures. M/I showed their true colors when they first tried to blame damage on gutters installed from the move in 2 years ago. Then after that myth was debunked they flat out said they are not going to repair it because it doesn't look serious. Horizontal cracks are known issues of structural / foundation problems.
