My interaction with Doctor Sciffern was brief, we didn't talk much before my operation, but the surgery went well, the stitches healed properly, and I didn't have any post-op complications.
No patience and doesn't like to be asked questions. No bedside manners.
Getting surgery was a huge deal for me and this being my first surgery ever I was insanely nervous. I am forever grateful we had such a skilled surgeon treating a member of our family. Dr. Schiffern took the time to explain in concise, relatable terms what the procedure entailed and what we were to expect. She patiently fielded numerous questions from our large group and was such a positive, encouraging support. I've been subject to doctors who make me feel burdensome for asking questions. Dr Shiffern, while inserting a feeding tube in my father, severed an artery and said nothing. He crashed while in recovery and had to be resuscitated. She has never apologized. What was suppose to be a 10 day hospital stay became a 40 day stay and nearly 7 months of constant infections. All because of her extreme incompetence.
