love this place! – I've been through a string of stylists since my old stylist moved away, and just couldn't find anyone who could do blonde hair the way I wanted it done. A friend suggested that I go to Kandace Thompson over at Lux and I'm so happy I did! Not only did she give me awesome color, but a great cut as well. It's funny how the review I posted and several other negative reviews have disappeared from this and other review websites. You can have them removed but you can't change the salons reputation. I talked to a former employee who said that the employees are the ones leaving the positive comments and they are fighting to have the negative ones removed. Shame on Yellow Pages if they remove any more of the reviews. People come to these sites to find out the TRUTH about a business good and bad. Those of us who had our hair ruined ... read more
just had to say! – my entire family has been going to Lux for over 5 years. I noticed the unkind words said about Nathan in some of the reviews and just had to say that I have never seen one bad head of hair come out of that salon!! All the staff, I mean everyone is so friendly and talented. As a business owner myself I know that this comes from the management. Every person I have recommended to the salon has loved it so go find out for yourself:)
This place is amazing! I am new to Baton Rouge and have been unhappy with the first two salons I tried. they came highly recommended but were not at all professional. but Lux impressed me from start to finish. Ruined my hair – I usually do not like to write negative reviews but felt a need to write this one. Nathan did high/low lites on my hair and convinced me that I needed a deep conditioner treatment without telling me the cost of the conditioner. I should have asked so this was my fault. When I checked out, I paid almost $250 for color, cut, and conditioner!!!! Unbelievable especially since I have short hair!!!! Unfortunately, that is not the worst. very disappointed – I had an appointment with Nathan (owner) he pawned me off on one of the "assistants" the whole time but I still payed his prices. He complained about other stylists in HIS salon. Then I overheard him yelling at a few of his employees from the back room. It was so awkward. My hair is ok (not great) and the service was awful. Lux had a great reputation but the more I talk around B.R. Nathan has a bad rap.
Saved my Hair! – Ms Ginger fixed something that 4 stylists and myself only made worse before. She listened to me whine about all the drama I've put my hair through. She ask me what i wanted and didn't want. She worked her expertise and gave me the hairstyle i needed. It's perfect.
Awesom massage! – Deep tissue massage with Melany was great - one of the best I ever had. My husband had a back pain for a long time, so he got several massages from Melany also and was very pleased.
