I was billed a downright greedy amount for an x-ray taken during my son's ENT appointment. Over $600 for a single view after insurance for an in-network provide ($1,052 before insurance), higher than any other x-ray that anyone in the family has ever had. Billing would do nothing to negotiate it down. I will be avoiding Lurie for any future healthcare.
My experience at the children’s hospital was very good overall. The medical staff were kind, supportive, and treated children with great care and compassion, which is very reassuring for any mother. The occupational therapy department and management should be ashamed of themselves. Sad to say it’s not the first time I’ve had issues within this health system. I can say for certain it will be my last. Upon letting the management know I was unhappy with the lack of progress my child has made, the manager of the site then blames my child for the reason why. I came here to this new facility for bloodwork and ultrasound on Monday, February 16, 2026. We made the mistake of accidentally arriving 20 minutes early which is the ONLY reason we had to wait. Once we got the appointments started, they took ten minutes and we were still out of there 45 minutes early. They are so fast and efficient and it is easier to get to Schaumburg instead of Arlington Heights or Chicago, to the hospital.
