There were a few things that kept our evening from being amazing. We chose Lure to celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary and let them know in the comments section of the online reservation but this information was completely lost on staff. No "Congratulations! We showed up 30 minutes before close on a Tuesday. Mitch greeted us and immediately made us feel welcomed! He set up a table, turned the lights on for the volleyball courts, and even gave us a heads up when our food was about to come out. The food came out to perfection and no one rushed us. This place made some late night strangers feel well loved and fed.
Our server was great though overworked. We sat indoors and she had tables out on the patio as well. Clam chowder was the only part of my meal I actually enjoyed. My main entree was the Halibut but was prepared incredibly dry and bland with rice. At one point I counted nine flies on the table, not accounting for the flies on my legs and flying in our faces. Update: 7/15/2026 I'm saddened to say that I believe this restaurant has gone downhill (seems to be the trend based on recent reviews). We, once again, dined here upon our annual family vacation and didn't have the pleasant experience of years past. Bar drinks very slow to come out- server said they were out of one drink so the bartender threw the whole ticket away instead of making the rest of the ticket and having the one person reorder...
