I have had numerous lower back RFAs all were done with an IV sedation. Today i had the same procdure, however Dr Bennett used only a numbing agent on the area and a valium prior to it. The procedure was pain free except for the minor needle stick for the numbing. Being totally awake, Dr Bennett kept me appraised of what he was doing and asked several tomes if i was doing OK.
