Highly Recommend This is a Real Gem! Small rustic cabins tucked inside a mountains edge. There are no televisions or telephones, so it is very peaceful. Perfect for relaxing and looking over the ocean from the breathtaking view. Highly Recommend!
An old-school lodge overlooking the Pacific, perfect for honeymooners or vacationing families. – The Scene There might be fancier accommodations around Big Sur, but none have quite the same charm as the Lucia Lodge, which happily retains a 1950s motel-kitsch feel. Incredible view – Even if you don't choose a cliff-side cabin, you still have a fantastic view of the ocean (sadly, no ocean access). This is not a super fancy place but it's quiet, romantic and cozy. Also, where else in the area will let you stay for just one weekend night?! Breakfast is much more than a basic continental. Inattentive staff – We stopped here to get a room around 6:30PM. We told the reservationist it would be perfect b/c we'd been camping and needed showers/dinner and didn't want to have to drive. At this point she should have warned us that the restaurant/bar closes between 8 and 8:30PM, even on a Saturday night. We took our time getting ready to go to the restaurant but when we got there they were closing down.
