Very very good meal – I don't usually write reviews however I thought Sasso deserved a special mention from start to finish everything was fantastic. I had the augula salad and the scallop dish presentation was great and the flavors were outstanding. The service was super attentive without being over the top. I think it is the best dining experience I have had in Boston for years.
Pretty Bad – Don't know if I was there on an off night or what, but the service was probably the worst I've ever had. The food was nothing special. I can't imagine this place will last long. Better choices in the city for sure.
Great for late night dinner and drinks – I love Sasso. The bar area is great and the food is always amazing. Friendly attentive staff, great addition to the Back Bay
Extremely polite and friendly staff – It's nice to go to a restaurant where they actually seem pleased to see you. Hostess was awesome smiling and friendly. This continued with the waiter who was extremely attentive . The food was very good I had the arugula salad great flavor and then I had the baked pasta with lobster. I still have cravings for that dish, I cant wait to go back and try some other menu items.
Lucca is awesome Sasso is even better – I eat at Lucca a lot, it is my favorite North End restaurant. I wanted to try their new restaurant out but never made it to the Back Bay. The place is beautiful white marble staircase dark earthy tone it feels a lot like Lucca but has more of an elegance about it. The food is completely different I was blown away by the veal appetizer with polenta and the baked pasta with lobster was a great dish. for dessert try the tiramisu they make it at the table. I am looking forward to going bac... read more
wow great place – I went to our annual holiday party here in December, it was amazing so I went back with my friends. The food is spectacular and the waiter had a great personality, he made us feel totally welcome. Try the Gnocchi appetizer amazing and I had the pork chop, out of this world. I cant wait to go back. The waiter told me the bar has a good scene later because they serve until 2. My new favorite Italian restaurant awesome awesome
Awesome Staff – Ive been there a few times now and really am amazed at how great the staff is. There is really great food in Boston these days and I definitely include this restaurant, but the real difference is the staff. They really know what they are doing. Friendly, know the menu, just very cool. Best bartenders in Boston, late night menu is awesome. I also had a private party and the person who handled the menu and set up was professional and right to the point. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
best undiscovered restaurant in boston – I heard that the new chef at Sasso worked at the French Laundry restaurant in Napa. So I really wanted to check it out. The food was absolutely amazing. I had the rabbit with polenta and the sea bass. It was incredible. The flavor combinations were amazing and the service was great and not to stuffy. The place had a good crowd, however when I mentioned it to other people they hadn't heard of it. Do yourself a favor and check out this hidden gem.
Pompous manager & chef a complete turn-off / Nothing particularly eye-catching on the menu – Made reservations for Restaurant Week...only one bar tender (there was a second, but he was busy making drinks for the tables), so right off the bat, had to wait 10 minutes for a drink at the bar (in the spirit of full disclosure, i was waiting for my girlfriend, not b/c our table was not ready). Seated by a very nice hostess... but when we saw the Restaurant Week menu, we noticed that one of four main-course dishes, the one she real... read more
