I had both knees done in the last 18 months with Dr Nikkel and I am very happy with the results and mobility. I had bone on bone in both knees and had both done in 2025 4 months apart. Dr Nikkel was able to correct my bow legged condition as part of the knee replacements and added 1 inch to my height as a result. Based on my most recent experience... I must update my review. To push a patient to pain management without an assessment is unprofessional. A new issue that is new pain on a different joint doesn't mean that I need to go to pain management without even attempting to determine a source or cause of the pain. Yes, he found my leg length issue but it's amazing how his willingness to help has changed over a year that has passed. I no longer recommend this surgeon.
This guy does not have a working phone number. He will not give a phone number at any office where he works. Has not updated any online information in years. Maybe he is no longer in practice or moved out of state. The entire process of trying to reach him, or any recepetion desk, or any office he is affiliated with, has been creepy and does not inspire confidence. Grossly unprofessional to say the least.
Dr. Lucas Nikkel performed my knee replacement surgery. He is a terrific doctor. My knee is performing and I feel like myself again. The hospital in Columbia and the nurses there were outstanding. Thank you!
He is an outstanding surgeon. He did an incredible surgery on my knee. I am looking forward to him doing my other knee.
