He is an amazing surgeon and saved our son’s life! He was very informative of exactly what would happen and did what he said he would do. Highly recommend!!
My son Carter and I are extremely grateful for Dr. Ilbawi and Dr. Vricella!!! Carter was born with TGA. These phenomenal doctors saved my son life not once but twice. Several hours after giving birth to my son I was told that he would not make it past the day I had him (October 21, 2018) in a few weeks he will be 5 years old thanks to these outstanding people! Dr. Luca Vricella performed open heart surgery on me in 2018 to replace a valve / shunt. He did a wonderful job. He is truly committed to his patients from beginning to end. I can't recommend him enough to anyone considering heart surgery. Univeristy of Chicago Medicine is lucky to have him on their team.
Dr Vricella was an instrument used by God to save the life of my daughter. He's very knowledgeable and very good at what he does. Unfortunately he is no longer at John Hopkins.
