It is heartbreaking to see that racism and discrimination may still exist in our community. My husband was taken by ambulance to Lowell General Hospital’s Saints Campus with a blood pressure of 170/90 and a pulse of 117. He was experiencing dystonia, a panic attack, and anxiety. I have never experienced such terrible and unacceptable treatment at an emergency room. I waited 6hrs in pain without being seen by a doctor or receiving proper medical attention, until I finally reached my breaking point and walked out. An emergency room is supposed to be a place where people go when they are in pain and need help, not a place where they are left suffering for hours and treated as if their health doesn't matter. I filed a complaint with the patient relations department, but clearly they don’t care enough to do anything about it. My mom went to the ER on 4/1/2026 at around 9:30 PM. She waited a total of 7 hours in the waiting room and we have NEVER encountered front desk ladies as terrible as this. They were making joking about all the patients.
