Overall, this ER is horrible. The wait time is ridiculous, usually over 5 hours, even if you come in by ambulance, sometimes they stick you in the waiting room. As far as the experience once you get a bed, you're lucky if you get a room. I'm usually stuck in a bed in the hall. Even when I come in with severe GI issues I never get a bathroom. Some of the nurses and doctors are good, but some are terrible. It's a gamble every time. Poor excuse for an ER. Do not go here if you need to be seen because I can assure you, you won't be. Absolute trash. Rude nurses, even worse charge nurses. Just because you're busy doesn't mean you can treat patients like they aren't human beings. You're not the only establishment that is understaffed, it also doesn't give you the right to treat people like garbage. Get a grip LGH.

I've left untreated twice and went elsewhere. It gives the feel of a third world country. Do not go here with any medical emergency go to Lahey clinic or Winchester hospital. Instead of allowing a young lady with chest pains to collapse with her mother terrified at the desk while you slowly take notes why not get a wheel chair common sense stuff that shows urgency and care.The hospital needs protocols and systems and when certain things are mentioned like chest pain take that seriously. This is absolutely unacceptable and disgraceful for a healthcare facility. I arrived at the ER at 9:00 PM and was still sitting there at 2:30 AM, with virtually no communication, no meaningful updates, and no courtesy from the front desk staff to explain the expected wait time. Patients come to the ER because they need medical attention, not to be ignored in silence for hours.
