Wedding Experience – Our wedding cake was delicious, but we had a mixed experience. We ordered a red velvet cake with cream cheese filling, but nobody could tell it was cream cheese because the buttercream/fondant outer layer was overpowering. We actually thought the cake had been made incorrectly. The scrolling on our cake was also not what we had asked for. Shocked – Before i write my review. i would like it noted that we used to enjoy going to this place until this last time, which during these hard times our country are facing is sad statement. We ordered a cake for my daughter's 13th birthday, which was a bowling theme. We ordered the cake they had online and it looked perfect. Excellent bakery in the burbs! – Lovin Oven is one of the best bakeries in Lake County and can stand toe to toe with the VERY best ethnic bakeries in the city of Chicago. Overly Sugary Pastries? Staff Not Helpful? I think the people who posted these comments were at some other bakery or are delusional.
Personal planner was not helpful!!! BEWARE! – I was trying to be creative in planning a special cupcake order, and the personal planner was lacking in her ability to envision something unique. She was not willing to offer different types of cake, filling, or cupcake papers because the cupcakes are "made in bulk". HEAVENLY!!!! – This is the best bakery my family has ever been to! We refuse to buy cakes/cookies/pastries from anywhere else! They do all our cakes including my wedding cake which was to die for and gorgeous! The best thing is a Swedish Flip Flop cake, they are soo good it is hard to not eat the entire thing at once! You will not find a better cakery. – I special ordered my husband's 30th Birthday cake from Lovin' Oven. So good! People still talk about it (the cake-not the party) 3 years later! Best Cake in the Burbs! – We have used Lovin' Oven since we moved out to the North Suburban area. Our wedding cake was beautifully done, exactly as we wanted. Our friends and family often request cakes from there. They have excellent sweets - cookies, cakes, donuts.
Best Cakes Around!! – The best place you can get your cakes from, hands down!! My wedding cake was from Lovin Oven and with my daughter turning 1 in September, so will her birthday cakes!!
