Family and heritage are the themes here, along with love and romance. The restaurant serves fine Italian cuisine and caters for all occasions. Tables are spaced for comfort and privacy. The clientele varies from families and couples seeking romance to business travelers looking for a great meal and atmosphere for meetings. Sink your teeth into Mama Lorusso's special creation of Bolognese—tomato sauce with ground beef and special seasonings served over linguini with meatballs or salsiccia.

Fifty Is Nifty! – I persuaded my best friend Karen to accompany me to St. Louis to celebrate my Fabulous 50 is Nifty Birthday celebration. Jeannie, the Concierge at the Chase Park Plaza, recommened LoRosso's for a special dinner. She was correct! We shared the Salade Caprice, and I then enjoyed the BEST Cioppino I have ever , ever had. Way better than that in San Francisco! My friends Veal Parm was also excellent! Chef / Owner Mike came and visited with us, and I was treated to a wonderful chocolate dessert, candle and all. ... read more

Thanks for the kind words. Did you want to say "Don't fill up on the bread?". We specialize with impressing the out of towners, we are touched by your comments. Our Cioppino is highly rated as you said, a dish I consider our best. Jeanne at the Chase is a seasoned vet of hospitality and we always send her satisfied guests. We recently expanded, adding a banquet room and our bar now includes a relaxing lounge setting with music Thursday - Sunday. Visit the web site for all the updates and dining incentives. OH MY! – I just sent in a review, and realized I named the Chef/Owner Mike! I'm sorry Rich! We had a great time at your establishment! Jeannie and Karen
Italian Seasoning Needed – I've recently arrived back in the country after spending three years in Naples, Italy. I've really come to enjoy Italian food and the seasonings that are used. The atmosphere of Lorusso's was quite nice, but the appetizer, insalata caprese, and rissoto/pasta dishes that my wife and I had lacked seasoning, especially the Italian seasoning that I've grown to love...

Thanks for commenting. We specialize with impressing the out of towners, but the foods from Italy are so much more intense with natural flavors it's hard to duplicate. We can only work with what is available, that is what I miss in our cooking. we are touched by your comments We recently expanded, adding a banquet room and our bar now includes a relaxing lounge setting with music Thursday - Sunday. Fabulous Food – We have eaten at LoRusso's on several occasions and continue to return for the food, service and atmosphere. The food is excellent. Served fresh and the perfect temperature. The wine selection is superb. The servers are knowledgeable about the ingredients in the food as well as the wine selection. How many places do you dine where the owner/chef comes out to see if you are satisfied or need anything?

Our Favorite Restaurant – We love going to LoRusso's not only for birthdays and anniveraries but also for a quick meal friday night after work. The specials are always interesting and the menu changes periodically. Rich LoRusso never fails to stop by and say hello to every table and the interior is so cozy and comfortable. The servers are excellent and really know the menu; they make you feel like family every time. You can get coupons and recipes from their website.

Impressed – I have to admit after moving away from STL and living in NY, Chicago and currently SF, I wasn't expecting much from some restaurant in STL that I hadn't heard much about...my parents frequent this place and when they took me for an engagement celebration dinner with my soon-to-be in-laws from CA, I was very impressed. The food was delicious and the interior was so much nicer than expected warm and somewhat elegant. Service was friendly and professional. Great wine list too. Overall a fantastic experience. Chef Rich LoRusso offers a lighter version of Italian fare on the Hill. – The Scene LoRusso's has a large following of regulars, and inspires perhaps more zealous devotion than any other restaurant on the Hill, St. Louis' Italian neighborhood. It's just elegant enough to feel like a special night out and it's authentic enough to please Italian food enthusiasts, yet it's a place where diners feel comfortable bringing their teenage children or their mother-in-law. The Food The menu, like those of most Hill restaurants, is exte... read more
