L'Orcio was established in 2003 by Francesco d’Amuri and his spouse Alison De Renzi, a couple who moved to New Haven from Florence, Italy to spread the flavors of this delectable cuisine among Americans. While dining in this restaurant you can take in the history of the Thomas Kelly House from the late 1880s, within which the restaurant is located. Top notch. Excellent food and service. They took good care of us for over 3.5 hours. No pressure...just class and comfort. Five stars.
Dinner was great, wait staff were fantastic. Definitely a restaurant to try when in New Haven!!
Granted, it was Restaurant Week. The service was inattentive and slow even though there were empty tables. The appetizers, gnocchi a la vodka and grilled octopus, were nicely done. The entrees were just ok. The veal saltimbocca and sautéed chicken and spinach, were both uninspired and almost bland. We should have gone to Adriana's or Goodfella's
Such good homemade pasta! You won't be disappointed:)
