Can’t recommend the knitting classes at Looped enough. I tried to learn how to knit on my own for about a year and something just wasn’t connecting. Karen taught me all the basics of knitting and corrected my hand positioning and suddenly everything made sense. Great value and Karen is patient and awesome. Thank you!
Great yarn selection but tight space. Came on a Saturday afternoon specifically looking for some fingering weight yarn. Unfortunately there was a large knitting group meeting in that area and it was very difficult to navigate around them to look at the yarn I came to see. I have been going to this yarn store for over 10 years and it was my favorite even though I don't live in DC. However, the staff on the weekends are not very inviting especially the older woman at the desk. She has been curt on several separate occasions when I have inquired about services or products. I love the yarns they carry, but the cost is much more than what you can find online from yarn stores located in other states (local small business) or even directly from the manufacturers. Super unhelpful staff. Walked in as a beginner knitter who picked up knitting after a long hiatus. I asked staff if she could refresh my memory with mattress stitch (very basic / easy to teach). She actually said "no - I can't. I never learned that and the way I learned would take me too much time to show you." That was it. She didn't say someone else will be here later / tomorrow.
