If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would! The PA in the MICU, Tatyana Yashchyshyn, was extremely negative and unprofessional. She told us that my grandfather didn’t have much time left and wouldn’t be able to leave the hospital. She even insisted that we should be the ones to tell him that — otherwise, the doctors would. We refused because we didn’t want him to lose hope — we wanted him to keep fighting. And guess what? He’s home with us now! My daughter and I came to Cohen’s ER for evaluation of her concussion. They placed her in the hallway, even though several rooms were empty. After a three-second diagnosis confirming her concussion, I suddenly experienced a severe SVT episode, and my heart rate shot up to 200 beats per minute. The only reason I gave two stars instead of one is because the team at Cohen’s reacted quickly — the room looked like an episode of The Pit. I took my Mother to the ER at LIJ Hospital in Lake Success because I was informed by one of her doctors of results from a previous Cat Scan and they suggested I take her to the Hospital for further examination we sat in the ER for quite some time once we were met by one of the vascular resident doctors he exam her and told her he had a team of other physicians that would assist in her diagnosis ,later that day we were approached by the same doctor who said his team suggested another cat scan test to to make a accurate determ... read more

My mother was admitted for surgery and spent five days in the hospital. Unfortunately, the overall nursing care was very inconsistent. Out of the five days, only two nurses were truly attentive, kind, and responsive — we are very grateful for them. However, most of the staff seemed overwhelmed or unavailable. My mom had to wait over six hours for the IV team, and when she needed help to use the bathroom, we often had to wait more than five minutes after calling for assistance. Horrible experience, incompetent, unprofessional, unreliable, careless & heartless personnel. Within my bad experience Drs where ok, but must nurses, nurse manager, & case manager had bad & lazy attitude, If they don’t have it within their heart to serve & help sick human beings they should not go for that profession nor work at a hospital.
