I had Lone Star respond to an AHS service call for my water heater. The tech recommend for replacement. He stated the water heater would be covered but I would be responsible for bringing it up to code. I explained that it was up to code. I am currently studying for my plumbing inspector license and had a copy of the ICC 2018 plumbing code and offered to show him exactly what the code was, he declined. Later I received a call from AHS saying my water heater was covered but I would have to pay the $1100.00 for bringing it up ... read more

I copied most of what I wrote in ******** **** ******'s review since that's how I ended up with this bad company- My water heater ended up needing to be replaced. ******** **** ****** gave had Lonestar give me a call & gave me their number in case I wanted to call them. It took a bit to set up the appointment, but that wasn't too too bad. After they came & confirmed I needed a new water heater, *** called & told me my portion was over $500! I told them that was ridiculous & asked them to tell me what I was paying for. I was ... read more

Worst customer service by a plumbing company EVER. I was in my home working with two contractors. LSWS was to come to my home between 1:30 - 2:30PM. I found a note under my front doormat that Kevin time stamped 1:35pm to reschedule the appointment. I was completely taken back. Two other contractors were able to find me without a problem as I was in my backyard. But Lone Star Water Services couldn't make the most minimal of effort to find me despite the front door to my home being wide open, the house vacant and clear line of... read more

Business response:

Sir, This is correct, you did speak with me. I tried my very best to go over policy with you. Kevin called you when he was on his way as well as sent you a text message. When he arrived he did speak with the contractors on site however, he was told by them that you were not home and would not be back for sometime. I did try apologizing to you for the inconvenience but you continued to speak over me. I listened until you got to the point of being disrespectful to me and my company. I offered to send you the photos of the atte... read more

I have a leak in my upstairs bathroom, I called AHS and they assigned Lone Star Water Services to come out and fix the problem, once the Tech arrived he went upstairs to take a look, found a leaky faucet connected to the toilet, and told my wife he could not fix it without AHS approval, (Not True), then he discovered the Flange was damaged and refused to remove the toilet to investigate the damage, Then our daughter came upstairs and he refused to talk to my wife and only spoke to our daughter concerning the problem. End of ... read more

DO NOT CALL!! Replaced my leaking water heater. When I asked technician if wooden platform should be replaced, he said "its fine. they're designed to be that way". It was NOT fine! Now that the wood is warped, the whole water heater is leaning like its going to fall over. Called them to fix it, they didnt care. Told me it would be another $350 to unhook/rehook the water heater, and thats not even to fix the platform, I would have to call a carpenter for that!! Simple fix would have been to advise me upfront to have the platf... read more

Business response:

Mr. B**** had his water heater installed by our company on March 6th, 2019. He did not contact us until the end of July about the issue with his water heater. We did send a plumber out to his location to take a look at the issue on July 30th, 2019 and found a small lean to the unit from the issue with his permanent platform . We did offer a discount at the cost of $250 to take the unit out and put the unit back in after he had a carpenter take care of the platform. This is a highly discounted price. When we did the install t... read more

LoneStar Water Service (LSWS) was sent out by American Home Shield (AHS) to look at two fourteen year old 50 gallon A.O. Smith gas water heaters. The complaint was simply the heaters were recovering erratically. I suspected short cycling through the cold water dip tube, either corroded and leaking or broken off. Neither heater was leaking nor failing to otherwise function, except for the erratic recovery. When the individuals arrived from LSWS, they said little and proceeded to take pictures of the heaters to file with AHS, ... read more

Where do I begin. My hot water tank went out. It kept reseting, but not blowing the circuit breaker. I am covered by American Home Shield so I contact them. They dispatched Lone Star, and I had my wife take off for the appoint set from 2-6. They called me at 2 something and told me they were running 2 hours behind. I said okay. They called me at 8:30 pm next and asked if I still wanted them to come out, I said yes. 5 people with no hot water since Sunday??? They come out, look at my issue, tell me they have all the parts but... read more

Business response:

Our company was out to Mr. Sullivan's residence on a warranty call through American Home Shield on 7/31/2018. While our plumber was on site he found that the water heater in question had a element, thermostat and wiring that showed signs of severe damage. The lower area of the water heater was burnt and melted. This is not a normal occurrence in water heaters. While at his house my plumber asked what happen and Mr. Sullivan explained that his AC and Water heater went out at the same time and he was having multiple issues. My... read more

My experience with Lone Star Water Services was outstanding. The communication about expected arrival window was well done, the day before the appointment. The arrival was timely. Justin and his helper were very personable and efficient. Went right to work and corrected the problem with my water heater in minutes. I've run out of space for all the wonderful things I'd like to say!!!

Business response:

We are pleased to hear about your experience. Thank you for allowing Lone Star Water Services to earn you business. We look forward to working with you for all of your plumbing needs.
