Good stuff. Excellent service, great food. -----11 Apr, 2015----- Hamburger and Fries. The burger was the best I'd had in a while. That meat had some char to it, the veggies tasted like they had been picked that morning, and the bun held it all together wonderfully. The fries were cut from potatoes and were great.

Excellent caterers!!. Used Lone Star catering for the 2nd time. First, they catered my son's wedding in April, and did a very good job. So, I used them again for my mother's 85th birthday party. Menu of: Appetizers - cheese & crackers, fresh fruit including carved watermelons (whatever you request) Sandwiches - carved beef, ham, turkey, cheeses, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, assorted breads Potato salad & broccoli salad (EXCELLENT!!!!) Not worth the price. My husband and I went there last night hoping for good food which we didn't receive. We both had the chicken fried steak. It was accompanied by instant tasting potatoes and instant gravy. The steak had been frozen and thawed and then cooked. The salad was store bought shreds and Luke warm at best. The rolls were not bad but the liquid margarine was tacky at best, as was the squirt bottles of dressing that was set on the table with the salads. Wait time. We were a party of 5, when we got there we had a wait of about 15 minutes to get to the front of the line. Then at the front of the line we waited another 35 minutes for a table. The problem was that there were 2 people sitting at a table for 7 waiting for the rest of there party to show the whole time. 20 minutes after we were seated those people at the other table finally showed. Great. My parents and I went to Lone Star, and we all loved it. My mother and I each got a Lone Star Special steak (7oz. I think), and it was very good, juicy and cooked just right. The rolls are very good, and the onion rings are fantastic. The salad is made of shredded lettuce (like the kind you get on fast food burgers), but I actually really like it. This sucks !. Ordered a steak , got a tiny rabbit sized salad . When I ordered my steak I wanted it to be med-well , it was fully cooked. I got pissed when the waiteress told me that if I wanted my steak med-well , I would have to order it med-rare . Trust me we left , but not before we had to pay the whole bill and no one ate anything than the stupid salad . 80.00 for nothing ! The place looked nasty but I thought I'd give it a fair shot . NEVER AGIN !!!!!!!

I've been eating at this establishment since I was about 5 yrs.old everything taste the same to me including my favorite full order chicken fried steak with cream gravy. Believe me you'll leave on a full happy stomach !

The demise of "the old, old original lone star tavern" is sad. Ordered 2 filets at $23 apiece, neither diner received requested tempearture. Dinner salad consisting of chopped salad reduced to approximately 1 cup. Smoking throughout restaurant. Beer was perfect.
