I have been to Loft 199 twice so far, first time was for my son, and although the appointment was switched to another person who was very honest with me and told me that she didn’t have much experience with short cuts, I decided to keep the appointment and she took her time and did an excellent job in cutting his hair and he’s quite picky. I then scheduled myself for a hair cut with her and she was honest with me in her experience with cutting curly hair and yet, she did not disappoint. I had an excellent experience at loft 199. The atmoshpere is instantly cozy, welcoming, and super cute. I felt so at ease from the moment I arrived, but I left feeling even better and so much more 'myself'. If you've been looking for a lgbtq+ welcoming hair salon- someplace with great attention to pronoun preference, experienced stylists, and genuinely good vibes- then loft 199 is for sure the place for you.
Jen B can give a decent clipper cut but, I wouldn't recommend her for color. I went in as a new client, asked to have my hair color corrected after 10yrs of bleaching. I wanted to go back to my natural brown, but it kept coming out copper when I did it myself. I trusted this woman to fix my hair. When my hair turned out JET BLACK, and not at all brown after the first treatment, she insisted we needed a second treatment "just to be sure the copper won't come back". The search is over. Loft 199 is where it’s at. It’s a confidence boost every time I leave, the atmosphere is so welcoming and chill and Mandy is so talented I could not be happier with my hair.
