Waterslide/pool area really the only included perk – Our family just stayed at the Nickelodeon Hotel for approximately 2 week over Christmas and New years. I would first like to stay we did enjoy our stay and our kids enjoyed the fact that it was a children's themed hotel. The hotel was maybe overpriced for what we paid, I am sure they have better deals than what we got. The buffets are a bit pricey but overall the food was good. I found the staff overall to be friendly enough to get the job done, but by no means went out of... read more
Best resort hotel in the area – Our weekend stay was exceptional. The unique location allows for a broad range of activities both within the resort proper and the adjoining theme park. A touch of Europe without the air and travel expense. The Portofino theme is prevalent throughout; including the harbor vista. Easy access to Universal with a good selection of restaurants on-site. Emeril's is just a short complementary boat ride away, as well. The Loew's emphasis on personal guest attention was evident; from the front desk to... read more
romantic and beautiful – my boyfriend and i have been several times. it is a wonderful experience every time! the staff is always friendly and helpful. the rooms are beautiful. although i do recommend the deluxe bathroom if you can afford it. the view is gorgeous. mama bella's food was excellant. i do wish there were more bars and restraunts open during the day. the only place opened was the pool bar and last time was awfully cold. however the bartender was wonderfully entertaining. i would recommend portofino over the other... read more
The best Italian – A very unique Italian Ristorante. The setting at the Portofino Bay Hotel is breath taking. The food is fresh, and the menu has many options. The Frutti Di Mare and Lasagna were my favorite, and Mama herself brings you a fresh bowl of salad for the table. Do not ask Mama Della for her recipe. It is her secret. The staff is friendly and the music from Sounds of Italy makes for a wonderful evening. The home style Italian Rest. is like no other in Orlando. You must visit this Italian Ristorante.
Pretty good Italian, strolling minstrels – We ate here while visiting Portofino. It's a nice restaurant, and the hostess was very nice about seating us at a booth rather than a table (personal preference of ours). Our waitress was really nice and attentive. What really caught our attention was the strolling minstrels. They not only were good singers, but they had a comedy routine going where they joked with everyone. We enjoyed our food immensely.
Very nicely done – We stayed here on our last day in Orlando. What a great resort. We tried to stay another night but could not get our airfare changed. We really wanted to stay another day to explore the resort. Our room was really cute and the bathroom was very luxurious. We definitely want to stay here our next trip out.
Nice and clean and worth the money – We stayed 4 nights here during October and had a great experience. The hotel is modeled after Portofino Bay in Italy and it has all the details you'd expect including a sunset serenade by two opera singers plus a great guitarist at the hotel bar. The hotel surrounds a big lake complete with abandoned rowboats. It's all very camp, but done tastefully. Also, they provide a free water taxi from the hotel dock right to the entrance of Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Very convenien... read more
portofino bay – without a doubt this was the best hotel experance of my life. they have a spa that is absoutly wonderful and an employee, Lewis, who I will never forget. His customer service skills and his professionalism, well is was great to see in such a young man. My husband and I, in fact our entire group, still talk about our stay almost a year ago. We find ourselves talking about the young man and how more hotels could use a nice young man like him.
Easy-listening eats for rock-themed resort cafe. – The Scene Ceiling-mounted stage lights and aprons of past celebrity guests on the walls set the star-centric tone for the Hard Rock Hotel's restaurant. Stainless-steel tables are paired with cozy earth-toned booths and surround an open-hearth kitchen. Service is sporadic and the staff seems less than knowledgeable about how dishes are prepared. The Food Menu options, from mac and cheese to 20-ounce T-bone steaks, strive to appeal to all ages and tastes. A bruschetta appetize... read more
