Very well thought, staff is polite and everything is clean and tidy.
We stayed at Loews Chicago Hotel, and the experience was deeply disappointing. Before our stay, we received an email stating that “all services and amenities, including the pool, are open and operational.” This was a major factor in our booking. We have two young kids, and the pool was the single thing they were most excited about. After checking in, we changed into swimsuits, went down to the pool… and found it closed with a sign saying it was shut for emergency repairs. We stayed for two nights to celebrate my birthday and Valentine's Day, and it was a wonderful experience. I especially want to recognize Enora at the front desk — from the moment we checked in, she was genuinely warm and welcoming. She took the time to answer all of our questions, always with a smile, and even prepared a birthday surprise with a cake, champagne, and a handwritten card. Last night we got into town super late cause of emergency/ unexpected travel plans. Called to ask for a room for the night and because it was past midnight they would not let me book a room. Told them I don’t want to have to sleep in our car and my wife is pregnant and we would be happy to pay what ever. They still wouldn’t help. Not sure if this is an isolated incident/ proper protocol or just a lazy employee but never booking with a Lowes Hotel again. I called 2/5 @ 2:30am.
We mainly came for the pool which was closed so that was disappointing as our daughter was looking forward to it all month. It would have been nice to have been notified by the hotel that those services would not available due to repairs. The staff were great and that made a a big difference which is why I even rated this as 4 stars. Enora at the front desk was very kind and empathetic.
