I have to get in on this debate. Your personal experience is your encounter. This is one of the best places I've eaten at and low key, kind service is how this place rides. I've had more terror sushi than great sushi in The Bay Area, Live Sushi is in trust of me. You want a list of places that will have you scared as hell, hit me. It blows my mind that my opinions and my wife's picks are always at odds with the picks of others. Places that are considered awful by the populous are always the best and favorite stops for us. Food Poison Central – I was food poisoned here before... had to call in sick to work the next day because I was too busy in the bathroom all night

Worse Sushi place ever – High quality and freshness was not the case at Live Sushi. Food was not fresh. This can be seen in the discoloration and flatness of the fish. I was very disappointed and very mad at Live sushi. After eating here, I ended up in the emergency room because of food poisoning. I spent the night getting my system flushed out. I would never go back or recommend anyone here

Not great – I've been here twice, lunch and dinner, both times were not great - the sushi was not very tasty. It's a shame as I live and work very close and love sushi.

Good experience; try the chef roll for a unique taste! – The place was very casual. Food was good, not great, not bad. The staff was very friendly. Spicy tuna was not fresh, but the rest of our sushi was good. The Chef Roll was very unique. At first I didn't like it, but was glad I tried it. It is made of kobe beef and foie gras. It's an interesting dish for those who want to try something more interesting. I still don't know how to explain the taste, but it was quite different. Reminded me of something they would eat on Biz... read more

Urban sushi bar hosts fans of modern rolls in deepest Potrero. – Cozy tables, a sleek sushi bar and strung fishing line are juxtaposed to create a fusion atmosphere. Both common and unusual nigiri (kobe beef, anyone?) sits alongside comfort-food noodles and funky fare such as breaded and deep-fried California rolls. One of Potrero's only sushi spots, the corner building aims to feed lunchtime diners and neighborhood regulars in the mood for anything from sashimi feasts to chicken teriyaki bento boxes.
