I ordered yarn and was told the cost of shipping was $10.40 for Priority Mail. The package arrived in a USPS Priority Mail Padded Flat Rate envelope. Per USPS, the cost of mailing this item was $8.00. When I questioned why I was charged $2.40 more, I was told it was for insurance. Well USPS includes $50 for insurance in their base rate and I specifically opted for NO additional insurance as the yarn was only $59.
