I absolutely love Little Axe. I’ve been seeing Coby and Christian for years and am always happy with my cut and color. I happened to be at the salon on 3/26 when Tintin Lane was having her hair cut. She wrote a negative review about her experience and I felt like I needed to respond. Coby is a master hair stylist who understands and empathizes with my hair needs. She is a superstar cutter and stylist and is able to give my long thick unruly hair the best cut (that lasts!) Mostly, being in the salon is a welcoming, fun and warm environment.
One of the worst haircut I received for the price I paid. Colby was focused more on doing what she wanted instead of listening to my input. I ended up with a totally different haircut than what I wanted and now I have to wait for it grow it back so someone skilled can fix my hair. I felt like I threw $250 to trash and would not recommend anyone to go to her unless they want to waste their money.
I was a hair model for a shag class Coby led in DC several years ago - it was the best cut I’ve had! As soon as I moved to NYC, I beelined it to Little Axe. Coby has been cutting my hair here for over two years and kills it every time. The complimentary bang trims in between full cuts are such a help. I always love going to see the folks at Little Axe - from the customer service to the cut, they are warm, welcoming, and make me feel right at home.
Coby razor-cut my shags on the reg pre-pandemic, and always sliced out some awesome, unique shape...making me look cooler than I ever thought possible. Came back for a visiting-haircut three years later, and WOW. She is super quick to get the vibe and the lines of my reference photos. Plus even after a whole day of giving haircuts she's so sparkly, effervescent and groovy. Get in there.
