I have been going to Dr. Shin for the last 5 years. I always would tell her my vision didn’t seem to be good, but she said I didn’t need a new prescription. Recently my husband told me that I needed to see someone else. So I did, and they told me I needed 1.50 contacts instead of the 2.50 contacts I had been given for the past few years. Needless to say I was very upset about this. Please be careful.
Lisa is Excellent! A true professional that knows her business in all aspects! My brother is an Ophthamologist in Albuq, NM and I see Dr. Lisa Shin in Los Alamos. Dr. Shin is fantastic and keeping my eyes in excellent health. She is very thorough and spends the time she needs with me. I feel very fortunate to be her patient!
Dr. Shin is excellent when you need your eyes checked. Very thorough and has good advice about the health of your eyes. Her optometrist staff are excellent as well. They take the time to help you pick out, fit and adjust your new glasses. Love my new glasses...AND...my new progressive sunglasses!!
Dr Lisa Shin is very thorough, proactive and knowledgeable. She implements visual fields and photos of the retina and explains the tests. She even forwarded me a scientific article relating to the prescribed treatment she is giving me to preserve my vision! Her professional staff are personable, caring and knowledgeable. Even my husband is switching to Dr. Shin after seeing his optometrist of 30 years!

Dr Shin and her staff are exceptional. As a patient with very sensitive eyes, they are extremely gentle. Dr Shin remembers every patient and is very attentive to concerns. The receptionist is very welcoming and personable. Randi, the tech knew my insurance and helped me save a lot of money. I recommend everyone highly and without reservation.
I have seen Dr Shin several times. Let me start with the good, the location is convenient. Aside from location everything needs improvement. The office is filthy and needs a deep clean, equipment is old and dated and staff is rude. The professionalism and competency of the office is severely lacking. It is worth it to drive to Santa Fe for a cleaner office and more curiosity staff.
I have seen Dr. Shin as an optometrist for over 10 years. She has always been trustworthy, efficient, and thorough in her exams. She truly cares about patient's eye health and their needs. She has always been willing to work with patients over extensive amounts of time to ensure their satisfaction and happiness with their eye care and the products sold in the office. I trust in Dr. Shin's judgement and advice when it comes to eye health and corrective products that will work well for me.
