Excellent - Thorough - Precise- Very experienced - Terrific feedback and follow through - Outstanding oncology surgeon- Highly recommend her! I feel Very fortunate to have her as my surgeon - Wonderful Staff too!
I had surgery with Dr. Rutstein in 2009. She did an excellent job and communicated very well what the future would hold for me. Since that time, I have contacted her on at least three different occasions to ask for a second opinion on various related issues. She has always been clear about the path forward and if my question was not in her area of expertise, she gave me the name of a peer who could give me answers. I find all interactions with Dr Rutstein to be extremely helpful, and I highly respect her and recommend her.
maybe she knows how to perform the surgery ( i lived) but 10 days after the surgery that I recuperated at the hospital I felt left on my own, did not know if I will live and was scared for my life. She was hardly ever around to make my fears go away. To reassure me to tell me what was happening to me and that all was going well. She maybe knew it, but I did not and I wish I did. A month after going home I was up to asking questions about the surgery I could not think of while recuperating at the hospital. She set up an appoi... read more
Dr. Rutstein is straightforward for sure, but I also found her to be very compassionate and patient. She is truthful and gave me a sense of confidence in the plan. Her nurse navigator called often, just to see how I was coping and if I had questions, and all staff was kind and efficient. Dr. Rutstein listened to my questions, and often gave answers in two ways: first in medical terms and then a descriptive easy to follow way. I’d say she’s very well researched and dedicated to her work. I have talked with many people who hav... read more
Dr. Rutstein comes across as being extremely arrogant. She does not like to be asked questions. Before my surgery I made an appt. to have some questions answered. During appt., she walked in, interrupted me when I tried to ask a question, told me she knows what she's doing and I just need to trust her and walked out. I recieved NO follow up appt after a major surgery and was told I didn't need one when i tried making one. I ended up with a massive infection that left me permanently disfigured.
Inconsiderate, poor patient rapport. Evasive and blames mistakes on others. No follow through. Supposedly very good at technique.
Ousts ding Dr. Very concerned about her patients full recovery She has a Suprr team
When Dr. Rutstein came into my family member's room at Maine Medical to deliver news that their family member had Stage 4 pancreatic cancer, she was RUDE, ABRUPT and delivered the message like she was MAD at the family!!!. NO COMPASSION!!! JUST SHORT-TEMPERED, ABRUPT and DOWNRIGHT MEAN!!!! She abruptly cut-off the family members questions. She said I saw the films, it is in the blood vessel, no treatment, less than 6months, I GOT TO GO!!! Her arrogance was cruel and she should not be a doctor.
