Lions Tap has been rated as having one of the best hamburgers in the Twin Cities area by almost all surveys around. We have been recognized as one of the top 500 restaurants in the nation. The good news is that it’s right here in Eden Prairie.

Over rated – I live in Shakopee, and know that the folks that eat at The Tap must not be from around here. I have given the Tap too many chances to count...the burgers are over done & dry on the outside & raw on the inside. The fries are reminiscent of those school fries that get stuck in your throat. The Convention Grill deserves the number one for the burgers & the ambience. My apologies to the Notermans on this one.
The Absolute Best! – Several years ago, I moved to California. Lion's Tap tops my list of places to visit whenever I go back to Minneapolis. I have not found a better burger anywhere in California!
WHAT A JOKE! – We drove way out of our way just to try one of these "famous" burgers. It took 30 minutes to get waited on, while there were 3 other people just standing around. They said "your waitress will be right with you........1/2 hr later. The burger was much smaller than we expected for the price, and tasted like we cooked a frozen patty on our grill at home. Fries were just as bad...small portion and soggy. Who says they have the Best Burgers in town? If you really want to spend that kind of $$ for a burger and fries... read more
Okay...I've been reading the reviews of this place. Why are so many of you complaining about the plates?!? You don't go to a place like this for what kind of dishes theygive you, you go there for the food. Great burgers made to order, fries are just okay, and great drinks. I'd reccomend a pitcher of 1919 root beer. If you want an upscale place, don't come here. If you want a place to hang out, have a good burger and some drinks...check it out.
Very Overrated – Lion's Tap features the most overrated hamburgers in the Metro area. I don't get it! The following they seem to have generated is a true mystery. Their hamburgers and fries are totally uninspiriing, and you can't even get a cup of coffee in the place! I would never go back.
Good Stuff – My family has been to the Lion's Tap several times this summer and we have always had out-of-this-world burgers. We live right around the corner and have yet to experience any of the problems that people encounter when they "drive all the way across town" to get there, such as long lines or poor service or unrefillable sodas - all of the fountain drinks are refillable, although they do offer bottled root beer and specialty sodas. As for the price, it's worth it. If six bucks is too much for the best burger aroun... read more
No big deal... – This is just a burger. I can do just as well in a frying pan at home. I think the place is famous only because it says so, not because there's anything special about their hamburgers. Come on people - How can you keep voting it best? Is the only other burger you've ever eaten from the Mc place?
OV-ER-RA-TED – What a joke! I listened to raves about this place for over a decade, so I stopped once as I happened to drive by. Greasy burgers, soggy fries, paper plates, and dirty tables that look like they were retired from a 70's McDonalds (who makes better burgers at $1.50 than Tap does for $6). It's not even cheap. I DON"T GET IT!
The best "hamburger joint"! – They don't have an expansive menu because they stick to what they do best - great hamburgers served with excellent service. Fries could use a little help (limp) and they *could* add sherbet or ice-cream sandwiches to their menu - something to finish up with would be nice. Our kids love going there, the tables are always clean and the servers are very accomadating for the kids. We enjoy the hamburgers "well done", otherwise they're way too pink in the middle. Much better hamburgers here than the ... read more
