I was born and raised in San Antonio. I moved here in 2002 with my husband Dr. Kenneth Shaffer, pediatric cardiology. We raised our two sons here and now call Austin our home. I am excited to be part of the new Dell Medical school. It's an honor to teach the next generation of physicians.

I find Dr. Shaffer to be personable, and friendly. She is very "to the point", which I actually appreciate. She is honest about a diagnosis, and gives all the information necessary to deal with that diagnosis. My daughter enjoys her, and in some ways emulates her. We are fortunate to have her on the staff at the BCC in Austin.
We've been unimpressed with Dr. Shaffer's approach in communicating and overall demeanor. It seems she is more interested in the advancement of her business than the care and personal needs of her patients. Bad bedside manner, interrupts you when speaking, and out to accomplish her own agenda. It's unfortunate because most on her staff are lovely to work with but our experience with Dr. Shaffer has been less than pleasant.
