I went to Dr O'Brien for anal fistulotomy surgery. Procedure was smooth, as was recovery. She has a wonderful manner of interacting with patients, from initial consult to the day of surgery to post-procedure follow-up. I happen to know a lot of GI docs and other surgeons, and she was unanimously #1 when I asked them who they thought was best in this region.

I researched colon doctors and then went to the hospital Dr O’Brien practiced at. Her bedside manner is unmatched by anyone!! She is kind and compassionate. She is the top in her field! Today she did my colonoscopy and she will do my surgery in about a month. THE BEST DOCTOR I HAVE EVER HAD!

Absolutely the best colorectal surgeon in the Midwest, possibly the world. I had an intractable problem with my ileostomy that had made my life miserable. I lost 50 pounds and I was in and out of emergency rooms almost every month for two years. My experience with other colorectal surgeons in Kansas city was a nightmare. The office staff at this office raises incompetence and arrogant to new levels. A MRI was performed and the office requested the disc. After forty days and multiple calls, the office manager "found" the disc on the doctors desk. This surgery was put on hold over a month due to sheer incompetence. The office manager takes no responsibility and actually blamed my mother (75) and demanded she drive around Kansas and retrieve a disc that is actually on her desk. This was my first visit with Dr. O'Brien. I was nervous, but she quickly made me feel comfortable. She is easy to talk to. She took time to really listen. I have confidence in her knowledge and experience. She gave her opinion of what I should do next, and I have no hesitation in following her recommendations.

I can highly recommend Dr. O'Brien. She is a skilled surgeon and adds to that so much compassion for her patients. It is a comfort to have such a caring, knowledgable health provider. I give high marks, too, to her staff. I especially single out her assistant, Jami.

My visit to Dr. Lina O'Brien was exceptional. I was very apprehensive about going to the appointment but was put at ease by Dr. O'Brien and her staff. She took the time to explain everything to me and answer all my questions. All of the staff that I dealt with were also very caring and professional. I would highly recommend Dr. O'Brien to anyone.
