About this business
Our mission: To develop an awareness and appreciation of our natural world through conservation and education. The Lime Creek Nature Center opened in 1984 as a conservation education facility serving North Iowa. It was funded exclusively by donations from private citizens, businesses, organizations, and foundations. The nature center programs are not tax funded, we rely on memberships and donations to continue our mission.

I'm the director of the Meservey Library, and I was left in a bit of a tight spot after a presenter canceled with a few days' notice for my summer reading program. I called Lime Creek in a frenzy to see if anyone might be available on such short notice. The employee who usually does outreach was out of town, but his intern was able to make it work, and she did an amazing presentation to my group of kids about pollution!
