I had my hip replaced by Dr.Kaplan 8 months ago. I am an active 60 yr old female. Pre surgery, I rode a bicycle often, hiked and used weight machines regularly. To this day, I am still trying to figure out why my recovery has been so lengthy compared to the folks in the videos on his website. At 1-2 weeks post op people are walking as if nothing happened 😒 ??? At one week, I needed 10mg of percocet every 6 hrs and dreaded having to get up to use the bathroom. I am 81 years old, in 2001 I had a hip replacement. By another dr. Always had problems, then this year had alot of pain in my hip. I went to Dr kaplan , he was so kind and understanding, he said we are getting rid of the pain, and he did a reconstruction of my hip. I had the surgery in August,, have not had no problems or pain science then. I thank God for giving such a wonderful dr , giving my life back. His team is the best. Ty, Diane.
Dr. Kaplan has done right by me. He had to fix a complete mess that a different surgeon made of my left knee, and did the fkn on my right knee as well. Unfortunately I have to progress to a hinged knee revision, but that's no fault of his; my hypermobility makes my situation difficult to anticipate.
