sent a blood drive truck to the factory i work at today, within my visit i was with 5 people that went in the truck to give blood, 2 made it out smoothly. My girlfriend’s arm hurts 12 hours later due to the needle being moved around in her arm when they couldn’t find a vein and pushed that needle in anyways, multiple times. It's a lot better experience donating the blood here at Lifeline's donation center, than on one of their bloodmobiles. Comfortable seating, as well as television to watch to pass the time. Plus their recovery area is like a small coffee house, with coffee, and other assorted snacks. The staff is friendly, and does their work very efficiently, making this a painless process.
Do NOT donate your blood here. I recently donated through my school’s blood drive. I followed all the prep instructions and was genuinely excited to help someone. Yes, I’m an easy crier and get anxious around needles—but I made it very clear to staff multiple times that I wanted to donate and continue with the process. To my knowledge, everything went smoothly. No one said anything was wrong. Two weeks later, I emailed to check on my donation and was surprised to be told it was “unsuccessful” with no explanation. This is a wonderful caring place and group of workers. I fainted following my blood draw from not having eaten well enough and these folks took the very best care of me. They really care. I appreciate what they do and how seriously they take their jobs. Thank you Lifeline!!
