I was a patient here back in November, when the adolescent side was still open. It closed in December, so my review might not mean much in terms of programming details, but I’m assuming most of the adolescent staff now work with the adults — so I’ll focus on reviewing them and the facility itself. My favorite staff members were Jessika and Micha. I believe Micha was new when I got admitted, but you honestly couldn’t tell. Whenever I got in trouble, they’d have me sit in the chair in front of the nurses’ station for safety re... read more
My experience this past week in the inpatient program was really good. I had alot of health problems and addiction issues they addressed and treated. The programs were good. The facility was good. The doctors were good. The nursing staff was good. The food was good. EVERYTHING WAS GOOD! If you're a whiner, complainer and look to find fault with everything, yes this place may not be for you. It gave me the structured environment I needed. The staff seemed extremely committed to their profession. I'm very thankful for their he... read more

In particular, the group therapy sessions were not effective fo... read more
My first and last time ever seeking help. I was brought here after going through a mental crisis and I was treated like a criminal rather than a patient. Brought in, in handcuffs, strip searched, everything. The inside looks like a glorified prison. Beige walls with doors lining the hallways with the nursing station in the middle. The rooms are just 2 beds and a bathroom. The floors are disgustingly sticky, the walls and floors are dirty. There are 2 communal rooms where there are TV’s, books, etc. other patients blaring the... read more
I am sharing this as a warning to parents who are seeking mental health treatment for their loved ones. Our family member (who is 15) was unfortunately in need of mental health treatment earlier in 2024. Lewis Gale Pavilion is a shame to behold in the Roanoke area. We never received a phone call from the attending physician, Dr. Parrott, while our family member was there. We made numerous requests from the staff for him to contact us, and never received a phone call. We did receive a call from the Resident Doctor, who was ad... read more
