While Chef Romina Rasmussen got her start cooking as a kid with an Easy Bake Oven, it's her extensive international influence that shines through in her creations today. Her approach to baking brings together tradition and the innovative techniques she's picked up traveling. Now she's an award-winning pastry pioneer who's sharing her sweets with the community in downtown SLC. We stay at the forefront of pastry trends, even helping to bring gourmet cupcakes and macarons to Utah. In fact, we were the first bakery west of the M... read more

I absolutely love these pastries! Super yummy and if I can save enough money to buy one (they sure aren't cheap) I rush over as soon as I can. They also have a surprisingly tasty breakfast menu; very wholesome and I'm sure much better for you than their buttery pastries. My all time favorite, tho, is the mac and cheese. Probably the best I've ever bought. Unfortunately, the service is not just touch ad go...it's just bad. I've never experienced a rude employee here, but I've also never seen one that wasn't inept. I've come i... read more
Over price.... – You are right Coco72. The things I have tasted are bland and too expensive. Kouing Amman $4.95 ????? The bouchon at Beverly Hills in California has Kouing for $4.00 and so much better. I think Thomas Keller has the right to sell them for $4.00 but in Utah for $4.95 ????.
Disappointing – Overall I thought the food cost way too much for the portions you receive. Food is good, but doesn't live up to its price. Service is great (biggest plus), however, an unprofessional owner treats them horribly and I feel sorry for them everytime I'm there. I cannot attend that place because I don't want to support unethical treatment of employees, no matter their position. I can only hope the workers there can land a job that will get them the respec they deserve.
Kouing Aman (Amazing), Pomme Frites and I'm in Heaven – This place is really, really good. After buying my lunch, I went back and bought more Kouing Aman (Americanized as Queen Aman) to take home to my wife. I've missed being away from France, and this took me back to my several of my fantastic lunches I had there.
Not fabulous... – My sister and I were excited to try Les Madeleines after hearing such rave reviews over the years on the Chunga Show. I had the turkey avocado sandwich, which was very bland. My sister had the Genoa sandwich which she thought was okay but the lemon tarragon salad dressing on her side salad was more than tart and needed to have some honey or something sweet to balance the flavor. My sister also ordered a "Sicily" cupcake, which should be called a mini-cupcake. The cake was a bit waxy and the pistachio butter... read more
Great croissants – The gal who is running this place definitely knows pastries. But you can tell they think pretty highly of themselves, based on their prices. Do order the croissant or the special pastry that begins with a K...but don't order the hot chocolate....skip on down the street to the Cocoa Caffe for that.
One of my favorites! – My husband and I stumbled across this bakery the spring after it opened and immediately fell in love with it. I have yet to find something I don't like! The dining area is small, however, they have outdoor seating during the warm months and a great selection of pasteries, cookies, cupcakes, and truffles. I plan quarterly events at work for over 7,000 people and have used Les Madeleines to cater it twice. My tenants absolutely love the treats we get for them and have become customers because of these tr... read more
Hard To Find ,But Well Worth the Search! – This place is small but has excellent cookies! I wouldnt want to eat there inside unless it was empty! They make their own pasteries right there and the staff is very friendly and helpful! It's hard to find driving down State Street but if you look out for a small little shop with Lime Green Trim you will find it! They make some weird looking thing there that is rare to find if youre not in one of the four states back east that make it. It's expensive but well worth it! Also try one... read more
