I have been a patient of Dr. Verhagen for at least 18 years, and you couldn't find a better Dr. He is a very compassionate person who cares about his patients. He is a skilled professional surgeon who, along with the late Roy Bakay performed a DBS on both sides of my brain. I woke up tremor free, gaining at least 70% of my life back. I highly recommend Dr. Verhagen.
He is one of the preeminent specialists in the field of treating Parkinsons with deep brain stimulation. We were extremely disappointed to learn that after initial consultations every appointment was with a physicians assistant who although well trained was nevertheless relatively inexperienced. We traveled long distances only to be treated by someone less experienced than the doctor we had left in order to see Dr. verhagen. Our requests to see him specifically were not well received.
