LHS rehomes pets to furever homes, daily. I love that they are a no kill shelter. The animals are their main priority. Please adopt , don't shop. And donate items, money, and/or to LHS.♡
I volunteered here last summer with my son. I would just like to say that I witnessed nothing but love and compassion at this shelter! The workers/volunteers poured their hearts into every animal here. They spent LONG hours making sure the animals had everything they needed. It was truly inspiring to help be apart of that. Unfortunately my son and I don’t get much time to volunteer now that school is Back in session but we will be back when summer starts again. I loved how they made my adoption easy for my first time. I fell in with my bluetick coonhound when I went to the website and then a few days later after I sent my application in I brought her home. I would adopt from them again.
I have adopted 2 dogs from the lenawee humane society. Shorty was adopted 13 yes ago and she is my little girl. I recently adopted NIco who had been there a few months and has been a wonderful addition to our family. He was a stray and very scared but they did a very good job of getting him ready for his forever home. Thanks again for all you do!

I got my dog from this shelter 6 years ago now. He is one of the best dogs I have every had. I am so thankful for all they do and the baby they gave me.
