This home inspector lost his license because of the shoddy inspection done on our home. 90 minutes spent on a 4000 sq foot house. This can be verified through the Division of Licensure in Boston at the Attorney General's office. He missed a severely rotting roof, a sinking porch not up to code as well as other items around the home not up to code. He falsely advertised affiliations with the ASHI and another organization.
Greg did the inspection on my, now home, back in 1999 and I was very pleased with his work. He caught some issues that, while were not big enough to back out of the sale, saved me money in the long run. I've just used him again on a purchase I'm making and again, caught concerns that I can now plan for. We also used his service when my mother was buying her home. The above was last year. I would not use Greg Lemay to home inspect a dog house I used him in 2004 for a six unit and was aware it needed some work. He asked the realtor for the seller why the guy had insulation on the basement wall and the realtor said who knows. Well three years later it cost me 80,000.00 to hold up the house and put in a new foundation because under the insulation that could have been moved it was hiding the mess the foundation was. I will not recommend him. He does very bad business. Does not get the report in 24hours as promised and doesn't answer phone calls.
If I could give 1 star I would! Never use Greg Lemay Consulting, please view all the yelp reviews!! He is very unprofessional. During our inspection he arrived late and just ran through the house and was done in under an hour. He promised the report that night and we didn't receive it, called 3 times the next day and still did not receive it. Finally 5 days later my realtor was able to get all but the pest inspection which was the one inspection we needed. Because of him we may have to push back our closing date. He smelled ... read more
