Leila is quite an experience and so unique. Being locals we waited a little over a year to have this experience and it was worth it. If you are visiting San Diego and would like to experience Leila, make a reservation on a week night. I hope to come again soon to try more of the food options and to be seated on the lower level to view the skylight ceiling.
Leila is definitely worth the hype! The first thing we noticed was the line out the door. This restaurant is popular! Once you get inside you are completely immersed in the mediterranean night time. The upstairs features fabric laid across the ceiling and a magic carpet that looks like it would take you into the night sky (the starlit ceiling). We had a good experience at Leila, the food and entertainment were excellent. However, if you order multiple dishes, be sure to ask them not to combine everything onto one plate. they do this without informing you and as a result many of the side items such as bread, yogurt, lime, onions, sauces and etc are omitted.
