I highly recommend Lee's Expert Auto Glass for any glasswork needs of your vehicle. The staff understands the techniques and problems of auto glass repair better than any other company in central Indiana. They are constantly learning and with their 38 years of experience their understanding of their work translates into its importance to the care and safety of you and your family.
Why do I say this? Please read on.
Just a sidenote first. Today auto dealerships do not do auto glass work and do not have technicians on staff that understand this feature of car repair. If they tell you the work is done at the dealership it is because they have scheduled a separate company to come to the dealership with their limited portable truck to do the work. Or they may simply refer you to a local company of their choice, not necessarily the best glass company.
Nine months ago I called I called the dealership where I bought my car and told them I had a chip in my windshield that would probably need a new windshield to fix. The service tech said they did not do glass work but gave me some names of local autoglass repair shops. And I happened to go to Lee's Expert Auto glass to get the windshield replaced. It was very simple and I then went back to the dealership to get the front windshield camera recalibrated., a routine procedure. To make a long story short 8 months later I still had no cruise control or ACC. Technicians at two separate dealerships tried to fix the issue and both of them along with GM technicians they had consulted with concluded with the same diagnosis. The windshield needed to again be replaced this time with a more expensive GM windshield.
Lee, the owner of Lee's Expert Auto glass, disagreed completely with them.
He said it was not the windshield but a software update issue. They did not believe him and strongly pushed that the windshield did need to be replaced. Lee reluctantly replaced the windshield with the one they recommended. It did not sole the issue. We took the car over to the dealership and they reluctantly performed the software update that Lee recommended. I drove the car home with my cruise control and ACC now working. This was nine months after the problem began.
The moral of the story: Lee correctly diagnosed the problem because of his experience and thorough understanding the system and the GM mechanics and GM technicians and their computer diagnostics did not -and it took them 9 months to do so.
Who do you want doing the glass repair work on your vehicle?
