May regret this but camping is always open. Swimming area is great for all ages. Miles of hiking trails across the street and miles of offload vehicle trails, too. Only downside is the in park boardwalk trail has been closed for years...it was a must do when open. Photos are from 3 different years.
Had a family reunion and it was a blessing.
