I would leave 0 stars if I could but then my review would not be posted. For the 3rd time this year, I got a letter from LCEC threatening interruption of service for non-payment. The thing is, I paid my bill (by mail) within a couple days of receipt, 2 or 3 weeks earlier. These letters seem timed to arrive on a Friday, when the Customer Care Office is closed for the weekend, and interruption is to occur usually on that Sunday. The only way to avoid interruption of service is pay by credit card over the phone. Three time... read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would!! 1st they refused help and had to be reprimanded by DeSantis during Hurricane Ian a year ago. Now a year later due to my struggle along with many others during this awful economy they are charging a huge additional deposit!! It's absolutely heartless and makes 0 sense for a non for profit place!!! I'm ashamed of them for all of this!! Absolutely uncalled for!!!

LCEC is the perfect example of corporate greed and price gouging. I was charged for 10 days of electricity even though I did not have power during this time due to Hurricane Ian. Raised their power adjustment rate 825% since January 2022.!!

I went online to their portal Friday 11/4 and went through the steps to start a new account.Today is Thursday 11/10 and I have heard nothing back. This is an unreasonable amount of time to wait for this request, especially since it is required to unfreeze your experian account in order to waive the deposit. I also called the customer service line today and they stated they could not check the status of this request and I could not check the status of this request either!!! And she was rude!! I can tell already I am going to ... read more

LCEC allowed someone to put my electric in their name without my permission and then charged me $35 to put it back in my name. Actually on July 11 I told them NOT to let the person do it the sale on our house fell through then on the 20th they let them do it anyway. They refused to refund the money. They said they have to do it because they are not allowed to refuse service to anyone. So I guess everyone should stop paying their electric bill because LCEC is not allowed to refuse you service.

This company just let anyone take your light for your name to another name without any warning. The supervisor told me that the person just needs your name to do it. She had no remorse about what happened at all, but the error was on their part. Also said this is a learning process for the customer service rep.
