We were referred to Dr. Leah Schenk at Aspire Fertility in Houston, TX by our OB/GYN and it was the best thing that's ever happened to us. She reviewed all of my medical history and helped us make an informed decision to do IVF. Dr. Schenk and the team at the Fannin (now Main St.) location were amazing. We found the whole place to be like an IVF factory, nothing was tailor-made and it was one trick process for all. We have successfully done IVF before and it was a completely different experience., We even question whether the nurses scanning lied about the number of follicles and throughout we never knew length of even accurate number. Its a shame but in truth Dr Schenk does not care or thats how it feels. Go somewhere else.
She did a surgery that was completely different from what was discussed.
One visit and never went back.....Dr. Schenk was over an hour late in seeing me. After completing the questionnaire with her in her office I felt that she was not willing to answer my questions or hear my concerns. I felt as though she was pushing me to have all these procedures without explaining much of anything to me. I am currently looking for another doctor.....
I agree with the other poor ratings...HORRIBLE!! After two failed IUI's with Dr. Shank my wife asked her to perform the third IUI with ultrasound guidance and she agreed. When we went in for the pre IUI ultrasound we asked if there would be someone there during the actual IUI to perform the ultrasound and the nurse told us they didn't do that. HORRIBLE! My first visit when I actually got to talk with Dr. Schenk gave me hope. Then I went in for my second visit (a baseline scan) and the nurse found a cyst. She did blood work to check my estrogen levels and told me that if my levels were low we could start. Later that day I missed the call from the nurse and listen to the voice mail that stated "Estrogen levels are low but your cycle has been cancelled. Give us a call when you start another cycle". I do not recommend anyone to go to this doctor. She doesn't spend a lot of time (10 to 15 min) to explain the procedure to you and her staffs are mean and the nurse is unavailable most of the time. I am lucky to meet a coworker and referred me to Dr. Dorothy Roach in woodland. Although the office is very far from where I live, the doctor and staffs are awesomely friendly. Dr. Roach is very fiendly and spent more than 45 min to explain everything to me. I hope I can help some of the ppl out there deperate to find a good docto... read more
I absolutely LOVED her. She was always very professional, and yet personable enough to make me feel like she was a friend just giving her advice sometimes. Great staff, great facility, great results. We got pregnant on the first try with our surrogate via IVF.
