Why would a chic French brasserie think it needs to pipe in loud EDM-type music during dinner to drown out conversation? Our waiter asked the manager or maitre'd to lower the volume. Le Bilboquet has a reputation for being pretentious. This evening I experienced that reputation firsthand. My wife is recovering from surgery, so I ordered a nice meal to enjoy with her at home.
