I paid $200 for a consultation, expecting real legal guidance. Instead, I was given basic advice to gather evidence and ask for a continuance, followed immediately by excuses. I was told they had an upcoming trial and "didn't know" if they could commit to my case. It is incredibly unprofessional to charge people a consultation fee when you already know your schedule won't allow you to take them on.
