Finding hotel near the beach? After being there for a while I can say that this is not just a hotel but really a second home. Rooms are marvelous with homely feeling. Food is of great quality and above all the staff, courteous, smily, helpful and professional. It will definitely be my second home abroad and I recommend it to anyone. Go and you'll discover it!
Colonial Beach Inn I consider this to be one of Santa Barbaras better motels. It has nice furniture and is well-appointed. I was very impressed by the continental breakfast because it had such a great selection of food. I loved the milk and cookies they had during the evenings. This hotel was pretty old, but it is still in pretty good condition, even though it is not exactly luxurious.
Terrible Mattresses We stayed there for a romantic weekend, ended up hardly sleeping since mattress was the VERY old type of springs that when one person moves at all, entire mattress moves. If you need a firm or comfortable mattress, go elsewhere! They also closed pool and spa an hour early one night, and front desk did not have the key. Nice folks, but rooms are standard motel fare, nothing "individual" about them, and small. Nice cookies/milk in evening, but I would have preferred they put some money into their mattress t... read more
