This company was contracted by 1st Summit Bank to provide an appraisal on my home. It took over 2 weeks for Laurel Real Estate to show up for the appraisal. They spent approximately 15 min doing the inspection. Then it over took over a week to submit the report back to the bank. This all cost me $350.
Bernie must have an IQ of a brick. Cannot even count to five. He recently appraised my parents home in Brownstown that has five bedrooms and 2.5 baths. Also said the full basement is a crawl space. AND, he put down that the property only has one parking space. He somehow counted 3 bedrooms. Probably because he twice lost his sense of direction as he stumbled throughout the home looking lost and stupid. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!!! DO NOT USE !!! If you want your property appraised at ROCK BOTTOM... call BERNARD CONNELLY. Every realtor in Johnstown warned me about this guy. I had 3 appraisals done and he was 10K LESS than the other two appraisals on an 80K house!! First appraiser used 5% adjustment on comps. Second appraiser used 8% adjustment on comps. This guy used 20% adjustment on comps... Call around to local realtors and ask for a reference!! This guy is on the " do not call" list for most.
