Dr. Larkner pretty much shamed us for my 10 year old being 'too fat and lazy'. We left the office and my son who is very independent, strong willed, and has no idea how to lose weight told me he would not be eating dinner or lunch anymore so he could get skinnier. I had to very quickly educate him and help him understand appropriate ways to be healthy. I don't appreciate the condescending way she approached us, and felt I had to defend my son. If you are looking for the CDC and AAP guides read to you verbatim, then this is the doctor for you. If you have any thoughts or feelings outside of that box be prepared to have this doctor speak down to you, act condescending, and passive aggressive. She is unable to have a thought outside of standard guidelines and will not engage conversation beyond that. Very poor bedside manners, and very poor patent care. She was unconcerned about our daughters torticollis which she was receiving PT for.
